Tyler police responded to a report of a suspicious person at a home on Cascades Court. Inside, they found John Augustine Tangney O’Kelly with a noose around his neck. Officers intervened to remove the noose, but the situation escalated into an officer-involved shooting. O’Kelly was transported to a hospital where he later died. The Texas Rangers are investigating the incident.
