On June 3, 2025, around 9:16 p.m., police in Limerick Township pursued a vehicle with three occupants suspected of committing retail theft at a nearby Target. The driver crashed on the 300 block of Ridge Pike. One person was killed; the others were hospitalized and died in the hospital later. The pursuit began when police attempted to stop the vehicle for alleged shoplifting. It ended when the car veered off the road and struck a fence outside a home. Three teens were killed and one critically injured.
