On June 7, 2025, Sacramento police attempted a traffic stop on a man involved in alleged domestic violence. The driver continued driving westbound on Florin Road, and officers escalated a high-speed chase. The vehicle crashed at Florin Road and Greenhaven Drive, involving seven cars. Nguyễn Huỳnh Hữu Đức, an uninvolved bystander in one of the vehicles was killed in the crash. The man left on foot but was later apprehended. California Highway Patrol is assisting with the investigation.
