On 06/06/2025, deputies from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a residence on Shockley Road in Scottsville, Kentucky. Upon arrival, deputies encountered 42-year-old Joshua R. Stanka of Brownsville, who was reportedly with a firearm inside the home. According to police statements, Stanka allegedly brandished or pointed the firearm at deputies during the encounter. A deputy then discharged his service weapon, striking and killing Stanka inside the residence. He was pronounced dead in his home.
