OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

At approximately 2:02 a.m. on 06/08/2025, an on-duty Maryland State Trooper from the Waterloo Barrack was parked on the left shoulder of southbound Interstate 95 north of Maryland Route 100 in Elkridge, Howard County. A Jeep Cherokee, driven by 30-year-old Saidou Zanguina of Columbia, Maryland, struck the trooper’s unmarked vehicle. The crash pushed the Jeep into live traffic, causing a five-vehicle chain reaction collision involving a GMC Sierra pickup truck, a Lincoln Aviator SUV, and a Volkswagen Passat. Zanguina was pronounced dead at the scene. Several others, including the trooper, were injured. The crash is under investigation by the Maryland State Police Crash Team.
