OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 06/10/2025 in the morning, a man was seen walking with a pistol near Hermitage Avenue and Lea Avenue in downtown Nashville. Officers from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department responded to the scene and ordered the man to drop his weapon. According to police, he instead raised the gun and advanced toward one of the officers. One officer then opened fire, striking the man. He was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent review of the incident.
