OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/10/2025 at approximately 1:20 p.m., officers from the Allen County Drug Task Force attempted to stop a white 2004 Cadillac. The driver did not stop, prompting officers to escalate into an active pursuit northbound on North Clinton Street. At the intersection with East Wallen Road in Fort Wayne, the Cadillac crashed into two other vehicles. Carolyn Hutchinson, a 93-year-old woman, was in one of the vehicles that was struck. She was transported to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries. The second driver, 80-year-old Larry Van Zant, was seriously injured but survived. The Indiana State Police is leading the investigation into the pursuit and crash.
