OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/10/2025, officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance involving firearms at a home on the 21000 block of 880th Avenue in rural Albert Lea, Minnesota. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that Nathaniel Dewitt Bailey, 44, had left the scene in a vehicle. Deputies pursued him into Mower County before he returned to the original residence. After arriving back, Bailey exited the vehicle, at which point officers opened fire and fatally shot him. A woman was found dead inside the residence; authorities believe she was killed before law enforcement arrived. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is leading the investigation.
