Event : Driver killed by police chase crash
OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On June 10, 2025, around 9:00 p.m., a Kern County deputy attempted a traffic stop on a white Buick Century near Famoso-Porterville Highway and County Line Road. The driver did not stop. Deputies escalated a high-speed chase during which the driver allegedly threw objects from the vehicle. The pursuit ended when the Buick crashed into a power pole on Road 180 and Avenue 8 near Delano. The driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the deceased.
