OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On June 12, 2025, Brooklyn Center police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on the 3200 block of 63rd Avenue North. Officers reported that the individual inside was armed with knives and later emerged wielding a running chainsaw. Police attempted to use pepper balls and 40mm less-lethal rounds. Police then opened fire and shot the person. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating. Officer identities have not been released.
