OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On the morning of June 12, 2025, Zachary W. Fallon and his father, Shaun Fallon, allegedly robbed the Chelsea Groton Bank on Gold Star Highway in Groton, Connecticut. The pair fled and barricaded themselves in a room at the Super 8 Motel on Route 12, claiming to be armed and in possession of explosives. Groton Police and Connecticut State Police evacuated the area and surrounded the building, initiating an hours-long standoff. At approximately 11:05 p.m., police heard two gunshots from inside the room. A drone sent into the room found both men shot. Zachary was pronounced dead the next morning at L&M Hospital, while Shaun Fallon was hospitalized. The incident remains under investigation.
