OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 06/16/2025, U.S. Marshals Service officers attempted to arrest Eric Gallagher, 24, at a residence on the 2200 block of Echols Avenue in Clovis on an alleged probation violation warrant. According to law enforcement, Gallagher fled on foot as officers approached. Marshals reportedly fired tasers during the pursuit but claim Gallagher had a gun. Two marshals open fire, killing him.Gallagher was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No body-worn camera footage has been publicly released to verify these claims. The New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau is conducting an independent review.
