OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 06/16/2025, Munster Police attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that did not stop, initiating a high-speed pursuit. The chase continued onto I‑80/94 and ended when the driver exited at the Cline Avenue ramp, lost control, crashed into a bridge support, and the vehicle caught fire, killing the driver in the crash caused by the pursuit. Indiana State Police are conducting an independent investigation.
