On June 26, 2025, Dominic Fajardo, 19, was killed in a crash at East First Street and South Georgia Street. Sheridan Police Department and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office had attempted a traffic stop. The driver did not stop and Sheridan officers and Hamilton County deputies escalated a chase that ended at Veteran’s Park near East First & South Georgia Street in Sheridan, Indiana, where Fajardo crashed and died. Authorities are conducting a crash investigation and seeking video between 8:38 a.m. and 8:43 a.m. along the chase path.
