Around 1 a.m. on June 27, 2025, a Virginia State Police trooper attempted to stop a motorcyclist on U.S. 1 near Dale City. The driver did not stop, and the trooper initiated a high-speed pursuit that continued until the motorcycle crashed near Dale Boulevard. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
