OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 06/16/2025 around 4:30 p.m., law enforcement responded to a welfare check at a residence on Sally Davis Road. They discovered Davidson deceased from a gunshot wound. Investigators determined that Bearl D. Ashcraft Jr., a special deputy with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, killed her and then died by suicide. Davidson’s estranged husband reported a history of domestic violence. He noted bruising covered by makeup and said Davidson felt unsafe discussing her relationship. This had persisted for months before she was murdered.
