On 06/29/2025, West Allis police officers responded to reports of a shooting at S. 91st Street and W. Orchard Street around 4:30 p.m. They found a 71-year-old man dead from gunshot wounds and a 71-year-old woman injured with a gunshot wound to the neck. Officers located a 72-year-old man nearby, armed with a handgun and believed to be the shooter. Despite commands to drop the weapon, he refused. Six officers opened fire and killed him at the scene. The Milwaukee Area Investigative Team, led by Greenfield Police, is conducting an independent investigation. The incident marked the city’s first homicide in about 18 months and shocked the normally quiet neighborhood.
