On 06/28/2025 at approximately 10 p.m., NYPD officers saw a man drinking alcohol in Riverside Park in Harlem and attempted to approach him. The man fled on foot and was pursued briefly by officers. After being caught, he began having difficulty breathing and went into cardiac arrest when emergency services arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
