OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 06/28/2025, a 10-year-old girl was abducted from a rural residence near Webb City, Oklahoma. Law enforcement began a large-scale search involving drones, ATVs, K-9 units, and multiple agencies. Officers tracked a man into Kansas and then pursued him back toward Webb City. During the chase, Jimmy Schimmels briefly stopped to let the girl exit safely before continuing to flee. The pursuit ended when he crashed off State Highway 11 and was pronounced dead at the scene. The girl was recovered unharmed.
