OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On July 3, 2025, around 2:50 a.m., Shorewood Police responded to a domestic violence call at a residence where Michael Griffin Jr. shot and killed his girlfriend, Victoria Truss. Griffin fled in a black sedan. Glendale officers spotted him in Milwaukee and decided to escalate a chase. Police pursued Griffin aggressively through city streets until he crashed near Reservoir Avenue and 6th Street. After crashing, Griffin immediately fired at officers. Police opened fire in response and killed Griffin at the scene. One officer was struck in the vest and sustained a graze injury to his shoulder. The Milwaukee Area Investigative Team, led by Oak Creek Police Department, is conducting the investigation. Multiple officers involved have been placed on administrative leave per policy.
