OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 07/09/2025, Meigs County Sheriff’s deputies serving a search/arrest warrant related to child-sex-abuse material contacted 57-year-old Patrick McDaniel near Aldine/Haning Road. During a struggle, McDaniel obtained a deputy’s firearm and shot himself. He died at the scene. One deputy had minor injuries. The Ohio BCI is reviewing the incident.
