OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 05/27/2025 at approximately 10:12 p.m., off-duty Colonie Police Department Officer Jason Tusch was driving a personal vehicle on Old Loudon Road near Purtell Avenue when he struck 65-year-old pedestrian John Bonds. Bonds was pushing a shopping cart and walking in the roadway. He sustained critical injuries and died on 06/02/2025. Surveillance footage released by the New York Attorney General’s Office showed no attempt to brake before impact. Officer Tusch remained at the scene and has been placed on administrative leave. The incident is under investigation by the Office of Special Investigation.
