Joseph Brewer, 39, was encountered by Helena Police officers at Anchor Park on 07/06/2025 during a routine patrol. Officers discovered Brewer had outstanding warrants and informed him. During this interaction, Brewer produced a firearm and fatally shot himself. Officers did not fire their weapons. Body camera footage reportedly confirms the sequence of events. Brewer died despite emergency medical response.
