OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

U.S. Marshals attempted to serve a felony warrant for aggravated assault on 26-year-old Daquan Phillips at a home on Factors Walk in Flemington. Phillips barricaded himself inside with a 5-year-old child. Police evacuated neighbors and deployed SWAT teams from multiple agencies. The child was removed unharmed. Flash-bangs were used around 6:15 p.m., followed by gunfire. Hours later, officers entered and found Phillips dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The GBI is conducting an investigation and will refer findings to the Atlantic Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
