On July 20, 2025, law enforcement officers from multiple jurisdictions engaged in a pursuit of a stolen Chevrolet Tahoe originating in North Carolina, which crossed into Cherokee County, South Carolina. The vehicle was driven at high speed and erratically through rural roads, posing significant risks to public safety.
The pursuit ended violently at the intersection of Dravo Road and Dravo Road Extension when the Tahoe lost control and crashed into a ditch. Aaliyah Shyann Sisk, seated in the front passenger seat, suffered catastrophic head trauma after being thrown against the windshield during the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
