OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Authorities assisted in a pursuit of a vehicle believed to have a hostage inside. The vehicle crashed near McCullough Boulevard and Interstate 22. Juwan Harris exited the vehicle and allegedly pointed a weapon at officers. Officers then fired, striking him. Harris was transported to a nearby hospital where he died. No officers were injured. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is leading the inquiry, and findings will be forwarded to the Attorney General’s office.
