OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Around 1:01 a.m., two 911 calls were made requesting a welfare check on a man in Tama, Iowa—one caller said the man was suicidal and the other said he was armed. Officers from multiple agencies responded and located the man near the 800 block of W 13th Street. Police say the man was armed. An officer shot the man, and he was transported to UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown Hospital where he died. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation.
