OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On July 30, 2025, two detectives from the New Jersey State Police, assigned to the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, approached a 38-year-old male outside a residence in the 100 block of Haddon Avenue in Berlin Township. During the encounter, one detective opened fire, striking the man. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:13 p.m. The New Jersey State Police Internal Affairs Unit is conducting an investigation into the shooting.
