At approximately 9:30 p.m. on July 29, 2025, a Milwaukee Police Department officer initiated a traffic stop for a reckless driver near North Humboldt and East Pleasant Street. The man fled, and police escalated the pursuit onto neighboring streets. The chase ended when the fleeing vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle at North Humboldt Avenue and West Brady Street. The bystander driver, subsequently identified as El Moctar Sidiya, age 29, was taken to a hospital but later died from his injuries. A passenger in Sidiya’s vehicle survived with injuries. The driver of the fleeing vehicle was taken into custody. The speed of the pursuit has not been publicly disclosed.
