OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On July 30, 2025, law enforcement agencies—including a U.S. Marshals Task Force and Capitol Police—attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant on Lewis Powell, 31, at a residence located on Alta Vista Boulevard in Jackson. The warrant was in connection with a double homicide that occurred on July 6 near the Fox Den nightclub, in which two women, Telisa Holder and Racquel Freeman, were fatally shot. Upon forced entry, officers discovered Powell deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is managing the ongoing investigation.
