OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 07/30/2025 at approximately 10:41 p.m., deputies responded to reports of an armed man who had broken into his parents’ home, threatened to kill them, and was under the influence of methamphetamine. Officers located the man riding a bicycle near Main Street and East 19th Street in downtown Vancouver. At approximately 10:51 p.m., a Clark County deputy opened fire and shot the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The deputy has been placed on Critical Incident Leave. The Washington State Office of Independent Investigations is conducting the investigation.
