OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On or around August 3, 2025, New Jersey State Police Lieutenant Ricardo Santos fatally shot his ex-girlfriend, Lauren Semanchik, 33, a veterinarian, and her new boyfriend, Tyler Webb, 29, inside her home in Franklin Township, Hunterdon County. Santos then drove to Johnson Park in Piscataway and died by suicide, completing a murder-suicide. Reporting indicates Semanchik had recently sought a restraining order against Santos because of alleged harassment, but it was not granted. Santos previously served on the executive protection details for Governors Phil Murphy and Chris Christie. The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office and state authorities are investigating.
