OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 08/05/2025 at approximately 4:06 p.m., a Greensboro Police officer responded after being flagged down by a resident reporting a trespasser on Marion Street. Upon arrival, the officer encountered Said Ezzine, who refused multiple commands and became confrontational. Ezzine retrieved a weapon and advanced aggressively toward the officer. The officer then opened fire, striking Ezzine.

The officer immediately called for emergency medical services and administered first aid at the scene, but Ezzine was pronounced dead there. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation has taken over the case for an independent review. The officer involved was placed on administrative duty during the investigation, as per department protocol.
