Around 2:00 a.m., Charleston police responded to a call at CAMC General Hospital involving a man armed with a gun. Officers made contact with Peter Lilly, who refused commands to drop the weapon. During the encounter, officers opened fire, killing him. The West Virginia State Police are conducting an independent investigation.
