On 08/15/2023, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Clarksville Police Department officers went to the Paddock Place Apartments near Union Hill Road and White Oak Drive to execute arrest warrants for brothers Brandon Lee Green, 31, and Leonard Michael Green, 33. Both men were wanted on aggravated burglary charges.

The brothers barricaded themselves inside an apartment with a hostage. Clarksville police surrounded the apartment and began negotiations, resulting in an approximately 11-hour standoff.

During the standoff, police reported that gunfire came from the apartment toward officers. Four Clarksville police officers were struck by gunfire during the incident.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on 08/16/2023, Clarksville police entered the apartment. According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, an exchange of gunfire followed. Police shot and killed both Brandon Green and Leonard Green. The hostage was also struck and wounded during the gunfire.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation conducted the independent investigation at the request of 19th Judicial District Attorney General Robert Nash and submitted its findings for prosecutorial review.
