OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On August 8, 2025, at approximately 1:43 p.m., North Las Vegas Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 3100 block of Emmons Avenue. Officers encountered a man armed with a knife. Despite multiple commands in both English and Spanish to drop the weapon, he ignored them and then charged at the officers while still armed. At that point, two officers opened fire, fatally striking the man. Emergency medical personnel transported him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The NLVPD confirmed this as the third officer-involved shooting of 2025, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
