On 08/17/2025, law enforcement in Lincoln County, Tennessee attempted to stop 21-year-old Austin Rian Gore for reckless driving. He refused to stop, and police escalated a chase that continued into Alabama along Highway 231/431. The Madison County Sheriff's Office and Huntsville Police joined the pursuit. Near the Mastin Lake Road construction zone in Huntsville, Gore lost control, left the roadway, and struck a pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
