OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 08/19/2025, Albuquerque police responded to reports of a naked woman armed with knives in a housing complex near the Owl Café at 10330 Hotel Avenue. A bystander disarmed her of the knives before officers arrived. Shortly afterward, the woman exited an apartment holding a knife and charged toward an officer. Police commanded her to stop, and when she advanced, officers opened fire, striking her. She was transported to a hospital where she died.
