OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 08/17/2025, deputies from the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic violence call in the 100 block of Bogle Road, Helena-West Helena. The man, identified as 40-year-old Brandon Billingsly, barricaded himself inside the home after the victim, a domestic violence victim, was seriously injured and transported to a Memphis hospital. Law enforcement, including ASP’s Crisis Negotiation Team and SWAT, attempted negotiations for approximately two and a half hours, then deployed chemical agents. Around 3 a.m., a single gunshot was heard. A camera-equipped robot entered the premises and discovered that Billingsly had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
