OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On August 21, 2025, just after 11 p.m., Knoxville Police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on the 300 block of South Roche Street. Officers found a man assaulting a woman. Police opened fire and shot the man. He was transported to a Des Moines hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The woman was hospitalized and later released. A nearby gas meter was damaged during the incident, causing a temporary gas leak. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is conducting an independent investigation.
