OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Norman Burrell, a Meigs County man facing three warrants for sexual exploitation of a minor, was notified law enforcement would visit to interview him. Deputies arrived, and after his wife left the home for safety and gave consent to enter, officers entered the residence. A gunshot was heard from the basement, and Burrell was found with a self-inflicted wound to the chest. EMS attempted resuscitation, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation.
