OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 08/26/2025 at approximately 4 p.m., Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of shots fired at the Monte Carlo Apartments on Northwest 72nd Avenue. Deputies found a 47-year-old woman suffering from an upper-body gunshot wound and transported her to the hospital in critical condition. Witnesses directed deputies to a fourth-floor apartment where an armed man exchanged gunfire with officers. Deputies withdrew and awaited the Special Response Team. When the team entered the apartment, the man was found dead. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the incident.
