On 08/25/2025 at 12:52 a.m., Washington County deputies responded to an alarm at a home in the Evergreen Hills subdivision near Bristol. A man inside fired at deputies. Deputies opened fire and killed him. The Virginia State Police and the Washington County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office are conducting the investigation.
