OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 08/10/2025, Bellevue police responded to reports of an unclothed man in a swimming pool who had also attempted to enter a residence. Officers located 43-year-old Justin Craig Lieffers nearby when he fled again on foot. They pursued him, caught up to him, and attempted to subdue him after alleged resistance. Lieffers was handcuffed and became unresponsive, stopping breathing. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Sarpy County/Metro Area Criminal Justice Team is investigating the incident. The official disposition is pending.
