On August 29, 2025, Virginia State Police pursued 20-year-old Christian Robert Markus Snyder after he was seen riding a motorcycle at speeds over 140 miles per hour on Interstate 264 West. Troopers attempted a traffic stop, but Snyder continued driving. Emergency crews later found him unconscious at the scene of a crash. Snyder was pronounced dead on site. The incident remains under investigation by state police.
