OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On August 29, 2025, O’Fallon police responded to a call for help at a home in the 600 block of West Madison. Officers found two victims suffering from cuts or stab wounds. A man with a knife refused to drop the weapon when ordered. An O’Fallon police officer opened fire and killed him at the scene. The two victims were hospitalized with injuries not considered life-threatening. The Illinois State Police are conducting the investigation, and the case will be reviewed by the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office.
