OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 08/30/2025, at approximately 1:21 a.m., a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper attempted to stop a Chevrolet Tahoe traveling northbound on Interstate 35 after observing erratic driving. The driver refused to stop, and police escalated a pursuit. The trooper used a PIT maneuver (Tactical Vehicle Intervention) to end the chase. The Tahoe veered off the road, overturned in a ditch, and the driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The trooper was placed on paid leave while the incident is under investigation.
