On September 3, 2025, law enforcement located Rasool Allen at the Oyo Hotel in Williamston after confirming he was wanted by Charlotte authorities on an attempted first-degree murder charge. Officers spoke with him by phone; he agreed to surrender but remained inside his room. After several hours, the Greenville Police Emergency Response Team assisted in gaining entry. Allen was found deceased inside from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Williamston Police Department is handling the investigation.
