On September 10, 2025, police responded to a home near 300th Street and Meridian Avenue in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Authorities say David Zimmerman, 56, shot and killed his elderly parents inside the residence. Officers attempted to get him to surrender, but Zimmerman refused and gunfire was exchanged. He was later found dead from a gunshot wound. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating whether the fatal shot was self-inflicted or fired during the shootout.
