Around 1:18 p.m., Lawrence police responded to a disturbance call in the 7300 block of Red Rock Road. Officers encountered a man in apparent mental health crisis armed with a knife. The man allegedly charged at officers, who opened fire. He was critically injured and later died at a hospital.
